The plaque reads:

“During the first ‘Schweinfurt-Regensburg Mission’, B17F “Our Bay-Bee” was hit by German FLAK. The crew decided to leave the Group of B-17s and tried to return to its home-base in the UK, Horham. During its return it became easy prey for German fighters. The B-17 crashed in the fields next to the “Congo-Vaartje.” All of the crew succeeded to leave the plane and survived the war. Martin Minnich, John White and Henry Sarnow were saved by members of the Mol Resistance.”
